Every lock is yours to manage — and stays off by default until you choose to enable it. Turning an active lock back off goes through the same accountability: a delay, a password, or approval from the same sponsor you already set up in SafeSurf.

SafeGuard is a device-level companion that enforces the environment: you choose which browsers to block and which apps to block embedded browsers in, it intercepts new installations, and locks sensitive system settings. Used together, they form protection that holds up over time.

Yes. The rules engine supports per-site exceptions that take precedence over a global rule. You might block images everywhere, for instance, yet allow them on a site you rely on for work. Exceptions can also be defined at the URL level — permitting a single address while the rest of the domain stays blocked.
Yes. SafeGuard detects embedded browsers (WebViews) opening inside third-party apps such as social networks, and you choose which apps to block them in — it doesn't block them all indiscriminately, since some apps depend on a WebView to function normally. It can also suspend selected apps, block standalone browsers you choose, and monitor and block new installations in real time.
Yes. Alongside self-accountability use, you can enable strict sponsor mode: every request to loosen protection or change a setting — in both SafeSurf and SafeGuard — requires the sponsor's approval, and the same single sponsor backs both apps. With a parent as the sponsor, no block is removed and no setting changes without their approval — which makes SafeSurf and SafeGuard a parental-control solution that's hard to bypass.
You choose which locks to enable from a list that includes: clock and date, global and per-app VPN, internet sharing (hotspot and USB tethering), network reset, Safe Boot, factory reset protection (FRP), and developer options. Each lock is off by default, and changing one requires waiting out the configured delay, entering a password, or approval from the sponsor you set up in SafeSurf.
SafeSurf and SafeGuard run on Android devices only. There is currently no version for iOS, Windows or Mac — the setup step runs from a Windows or Mac computer, or directly from the phone on Android 11+ (no computer needed), but the apps themselves are installed on an Android device.
For the protection to be hermetic, SafeGuard is installed at Android's Device Owner level — the deepest, hardest-to-bypass layer the system offers. It can only be enabled there through a one-time setup: over USB from a computer (Windows or Mac), or on Android 11 and newer — straight from the phone, no computer and no cable, via wireless debugging. Our installer downloads the required tools automatically, so no prior technical knowledge is needed, and once it's done everything runs on the device on its own.
